Melting Art

I saw a picture the other day that reminded me of the amazing ice sculpture Brazilian artist Nele Azevedo’s created for her 2008 installation. She carved over a thousand miniature ice figures, which formed ‘Monumento Minimo’. The 20cm high figures were then seated on the staircase of the Institute degli Innocenti in Florence, Italy and only lasted a few hours in the heat of the day.

‘Monumento Minimo’ is a project of “urban intervention” that has been conducted in different cities around the world, such as Sao Paulo, Paris and Germany since 2001.

So pretty!
